How to Keep Pizza Warm, is It Easy ?
At dinner or lunch there are many chances that you can be interrupted. While these may be a few second interruptions, many may last several minutes or even hours. At this point, it is very difficult to return to your lunch or dinner and be satisfied with a cold or lukewarm pizza.
If you have been interrupted in the middle of eating your pizza, you should try to keep your pizza warm through the following ways. This way you can keep your pizza at a temperature you can enjoy by the time you can sit down and eat.
1. Box in The Oven
You can keep your pizza in the oven while it is still in the box. It is important to keep the oven’s temperature low so as not to cause damage to the box or cause a fire.
You should make sure the pizza’s steam flaps are open so as not to cause the crust to become moist and chewy.
Preheat your oven to a low temperature, such as 200 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature will keep your oven perfectly hot while preventing any fires or burning your pizza.
When you place the pizza into the oven, lower the temperature to less than 150 degrees Fahrenheit to make sure there are not problems.
When you keep your pizza in the oven, it will stay hot and the cheese will keep melted, but it will not burn.
2. In The Oven without The Box
If you decide to store your pizza in the oven without the box it will require a little extra advance preparation.
This is good if you are expecting a pizza, but you already know you will not be able to eat it when it has arrived. This works best if you have stoneware for your pizza.
Preheat your stoneware to 200 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 45 minutes. This will keep your stoneware hot and it will retain heat for an hour after being removed from the oven.
When your pizza arrives, take it out of the box and slide the pizza onto the stone. The stone will continue to heat the pizza as it sits out. You can keep it in aluminum foil to distribute the heat evenly throughout the pizza and keep more heat from escaping.
You can keep the stone with the pizza in the oven, but make sure you turn it off to prevent cooking or burning the pizza any further. This is an important step so as not to ruin your pizza.
3. Toaster Oven and Conventional Oven
While you can heat the pizza in a conventional oven, this might be overkill. What you choose to use will really depend on how many you are serving. If you are serving a large party and need to keep your pizza warm, then preheat your oven.
However, if it is for you, then you can opt for a toaster oven instead. You can even follow the steps above but with slight variations. These variations do not require more materials other than what you probably have in your kitchen.
The box-in method can be simulated with aluminum foil. Just wrap your meal in aluminum foil and place it in the preheated toaster oven. The aluminum should have gaps to let steam escape so the aluminum is not left chewy.
On the other hand, the stone method can be simulated by using individual tortilla stones. These stones are meant to keep tortillas hot while you are preparing fajitas. You can heat the stones in the toaster oven and then place the portions of pizza on top of the stones.
